Member Services are a core function of the SSA. Our aim is to provide tailored, relevant and valued services - which support the diversity of our membership - to meet the current and future needs of our members.

Shared Administration Service

The Shared Administration Service saw continued growth with several new SGBs making use of the services available. These include a wide range of services which can be used as and when they are needed. We recently carried out a survey and have had very positive and encouraging feedback from respondents:

Member Support Requests

We saw continued use of the services offered around the sharing of resources and expertise, including, member support requests, and job adverts. By facilitating this service we ensure that our member’s use of time is as efficient as possible and our thanks go to all our members who take the time to respond to any requests for support and sharing of information.

On Board for Sport & Job Promotion Service

We saw continued use of our On Board for Sport network and Jobs Promotion Service. This is testament to the value of these services which sees the SSA utilising its extensive network of contacts, including a wide range of contacts to help find suitably qualified individuals to fill vacancies within SGBs.

We have further increased our presence outwith the sporting sector and have represented the membership at a number of events to ensure promotion to as wide an audience as possible and have attended events such as Civil Service Live and Scottish Government Volunteering Events at Victoria Quay, where we were able to promote current vacancies to range of sectors.

Our networks continue to grow and now have direct contact within a variety of organisations from a breadth of sectors including, legal, finance, marketing, voluntary, private and public, education and many more.

SGB Learning & Development Programme

The sportscotland & SSA Learning & Development programme continued to go from strength to strength. We hosted a wide range of courses covering a broad range of topics, and although there was a small reduction in number of courses from last year, this was due to offering enhanced learning opportunities through several longer, more intensive courses, replacing multiple smaller bitesize ones. We saw the highest ever number of attendees and a significant increase in SGBs and Partner Organisations making use of the incredibly valuable programme.
